The biblical story of Adam and Eve is one of the favorite themes in art of Victor Bregeda. The artist has used the subject of the original sin and the Fall in the garden of Eden. The composition of this painting consists of the images that are closely related to each other. These images are interchanging. The artist is using the principle of metarealism, that is the superposition of two realities. The action on the canvas takes place, as in the most painting by Victor Bregeda, on an imagined table, which is the artist’s allusion, highlighting the virtual form of this world. The still life changes into landscape and genre scene. An apple and a flower are on the foreground. The flowing juice takes the form of Adam and Eve. The Old and New Testament books are on the left and a lifeless candle. The light of this world gets through the branches of the Garden of Eden and all the images start shining with brighter and more optimistic colors.
